✝️ Faith, Family, and the Gift of Christ

As the year draws to a close, we find ourselves slowing down — taking a deep breath and remembering what truly matters. For our family, the Christmas season isn’t just about lights or gifts; it’s about celebrating the birth of Christ, the greatest gift we’ve ever received.

In the quiet of winter, we gather with loved ones around the table, share stories, and reflect on the blessings of the year gone by. The farm teaches us a lot about rhythm and rest — and this season, we’re grateful for both. It’s a time to pause from the busy work of tending animals and instead tend to the hearts God has entrusted to us.

🐟 A Family Tradition

While many think of turkey or ham for the holidays, our table is often filled with seafood. From hearty seafood stews to fried oysters, these meals remind us of our roots and the abundance God provides from both land and sea.

Eating seafood through the winter brings more than just variety — it’s rich in nutrients like omega-3s, vitamin D, and trace minerals that strengthen our immune systems and support energy through the colder, darker months. Every meal is a reminder that God provides what we need for every season of life.

If you’re looking for a reliable source for seafood this winter, Wild for Salmon offers wild-caught fish and shellfish that can be shipped across the continental United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii). They are considered a trusted source for quality seafood.

🙏 Stewardship, Gratitude, and Good Food

Just as we care for our animals with respect and attention throughout the year, the holiday season is a chance to care for our families and hearts. Whether raising pigs in the winter woods, tending laying hens in cozy barns, or enjoying wholesome seafood around the table, faithful stewardship reflects God’s goodness.

As we celebrate Christ’s birth, we’re reminded that everything we have — from the food on our plates to the loved ones gathered around it — is a reflection of His grace. May this season bring you peace, joy, and the time to rest in His presence.

From all of us at the farm, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Are Chicken and Pork “Dirty Meat”?

You’ve probably heard it before — that chicken and pork aren’t as “clean” or “healthy” as beef. But the truth is, it’s not the animal that determines the quality of the meat — it’s how that animal is raised and fed.

Bringing the Farm to The Heart of DC

This past weekend, I, Farmer Steven, had the incredible opportunity to attend Feds for Freedom in Washington DC, an event focused on connecting people who care about personal freedom and self-reliance in our everyday lives. While the cause touches on many aspects of government oversight, my goal in participating was simple: to share a taste of farm life and sustainable practices with people who are curious about where their food comes from.
